Rodolfo Paglialunga has been appointed Creative Director at Jil Sander. Italian former IM student will head up the German Fashion House “into the next level.” Six months after she left her fashion house for the third time, 70-year-old Jil Sander has announced the appointment of Rodolfo Paglialunga, renowned fashion designer and former student at Istituto Marangoni Fashion School, as the label’s new Creative Director. Rodolfo Paglialunga graduated as a Fashion Designer at Istituto Marangoni Milano and started his career working with Romeo Gigli before turning to womenswear design direction at Prada in 1996. He left for the French MaisonVionnet, this time as Creative Director. Paglialunga starts his adventure at Jil Sander’s with a strong belief in the pure vision and values of the fashion label. “My aim is to carry forward the fusion between sophistication, luxury and innovation and bring the house into the next level" he stated in a press release. Indeed, the Italian designer has been presented by Jil Sander CEO Alessandro Cremonesi as "the right talent that [...] will be able to raise the Brand’s creative excellence to achieve new fashion marks." In other words, the one who will provide “an evolution, not a revolution” of the label. Paglialunga will operate in Milano, where the fashion house’s headquarters are based, with his first designs for the SS 2015 women's collections showing this September.
