sit down! international design contest

Istituto Marangoni has decided to celebrate its 80th anniversary within a rich programme of initiatives and events dedicated to design talents. In partnership with Cappellini, Istituto Marangoni sets to launch SIT DOWN!, a design contest for emerging designers from around the globe. SIT DOWN! is open to product & industrial design, interior design or architecture graduates, as well as experienced professionals in the industry who wish to make their dream come true and attend an excellence training programme at Istituto Marangoni Milano School of Design. The concept involves the design of a new, contemporary seating characterized by formal innovation, functionality and comfort, capable of blending Western habits with Eastern tradition. Participants in the SIT DOWN! contest shall upload their project on the “80 chances to be the one” section of Istituto Marangoni website by June 19th, 2015. They will be judged by a panel of Istituto Marangoni representatives and prestigious professionals in design industry, including Silvana Annichiarico, Director of the Triennale Design Museum, Cristina Morozzi, Istituto Marangoni School of Design Director of Education and, of course, Giulio Cappellini, Architect, Designer and Art Director of Cappellini furniture and interior design company. The winner of SIT DOWN! will be awarded with a scholarship offered by Cappellini to attend the Master’s Course in Italian Product Design at the School of Design Istituto Marangoni Milano starting in October 2015.   For further details about the contest, check out the call for participation.
