Alessandra Benedetto, third year Fashion Styling student at the School of Fashion Istituto Marangoni, is the winner of the “Garment Collecting” contest organized by H&M for the promotion of sustainable Fashion. Since 16thApril, 2015, Alessandra Benedetto’s work has been receiving visibility in the windows of 10 H&M stores. With the aim of providing concrete support to the environment, the “Garment Collecting” project encourages customers to hand in their old clothes to H&M stores so that they can be recycled and turned into new products. H&M was one the first clothing companies to launch, some years ago, such initiative, which involves the collection of used garments of any brand and in any condition to save landfills and help the planet. The “special windows” designed by Alessandra Benedetto expresses at best the company's will to raise awareness among its clientele towards a vision for sustainable fashion, by assuring a dignified future to textile waste. Barbara Toscano, Campus Director of the Fashion School in Milano, complimented Alessandra on the dedication and commitment to her training and with regard to the meaningful partnership with the Brand, she added: “We are very pleased with this special cooperation with H&M, which is a tangible example of how young talents are enhanced through growth opportunities that bring them into the fashion business.” Alessandra Benedetto’s project is currently being showcased in the following H&M stores: Milano · Corso Buenos Aires 56/58 Rome · Via Tuscolana 785 Rome · Centro Commerciale Roma est Bari · Via Sparano 24/26 Palermo · Via Ruggero Settimo 14 Trieste · Corso Italia 23 Parma · Via Mazzini 8A Limbiate · Centro Commerciale Carrefour Mestre · Centro Commerciale Le Barche Marcianise (Caserta) · Centro Commerciale Campania
