Miguel García at the Samsung Ego
Samsung Ego concludes the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid with the usual space dedicated to emerging designers in Spanish fashion.
Among the new talent in the race was Miguel Garcia, fashion designer, who graduated from Istituto Marangoni in Milano in 2010.
Miguel Garcia Abad attended the three-year course in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Milano, completing his second year at Istituto Marangoni London and ending his brilliant course of studies back in Milano with the introduction of a new textile fibre never before seen on a catwalk. In 2011 he launched his independent brand, Miguel Alex, and presented his first collection for spring / summer 2012 in October of the same year at Marmara Forum during Istanbul Fashion Week.
On February 18th 2014, Miguel Alex paraded on the catwalks of the Samsung EGO Innovation Project, a fashion contest organised by IFEMA and dedicated to the promotion of young talent. The initiative, launched in 2006 and placed within Madrid fashion week since 2008, has now become an important reference point for international professionals in the industry.
For the upcoming autumn / winter 2014, Miguel Alex accepts the concept of femininity with elegance and simplicity in his Hybrid collection through games with shades, asymmetries and the usual predominance of white, using classic winter materials and presenting in a mature and elaborate form such characteristics of the brand's DNA as eccentric kimono sleeves and transparency.
