One of the most brilliant case histories of the last decade, that of London based Greek designer Mary Katrantzou and her eponymous label, seen through the lens of her close aide, Alexander Giantsis, the man behind the brand's vertiginous commercial expansion. It is the exciting program of the new appointment on the agenda of 'In Conversation With...', the course of talks with the protagonists of the fashion world, interviewed by well-known names of the trade press at the Shoreditch premises of Istituto Marangoni The London School of Fashion. Giantsis, Mary Katrantzou Commercial Director in charge of wholesale, brand positioning and e-commerce, will meet on Saturday, June 18, with Kirsty McGregor, the News Editor of 'Drapers' and a regular media commentator on fashion and retail, to share with the audience his personal story; from his studies in fashion design and management, to his first steps at Harvey Nicholsand Dolce & Gabbana, to the decision of joining, only one year after graduation, the luxury label Mary Katrantzou, then a promising start-up making its debut on the London catwalks. Less than seven years later, the brand has become one of the new icons of fashion, now distributed in 56 countries at over 260 retailers, including international department stores such as Selfridges,Harvey Nichols, Barneys, and Neiman Marcus, as well as the most prestigious luxury and lifestyle shops, like 10 Corso Como, Colette or Luisa Via Roma.
