Born in 1993 just outside Copenhagen, Nynne Kunde developed a profound interest in the world of Art & Design from an early age. In 2014, Kunde began fulfilling this passion by attending Istituto Marangoni in London to study Fashion where alongside her studies she worked at ready-to-wear label Rejina Pyo.
Upon graduating in 2018, Nynne was named ‘Womenswear Designer of the Year’ during the Istituto Marangoni London final year’s fashion show and subsequently launched her eponymous label NYNNE – a contemporary luxury brand focusing on craftsmanship and exaggerated silhouettes.
Kunde’s Scandinavian roots play a significant part in NYNNE’s designs, her own brand, where the clean minimalistic lines are complemented with the vibrant colours and details synonymous with London’s cosmopolitan energy. The two cities balance each other out with their distinctive styles and ambience, proving the perfect inspiration for Kunde as well as the locations of the brand’s studios.
In May 2019 Nynne has been selected as the winner of the third edition of I’M Alumni Collections ®evolution: Nynne’s SS20 womenswear collection ‘Ducens Domina’ was showcased, hosted by Ermanno Scervino, during Milano Fashion Week, Saturday September 21st 2019.
The SS20 collection carries on from the debut AW19 collection with updated guidelines for power dressing through statement dresses and inspiration taken from 1940’s exaggerated shapes with modified details to better facilitate the modern woman. The collection features defining cuts that take you back to the days of Hollywood glamour dressing, when collar bones being displayed gave a level of risk to a woman’s character. Signature shapes in nylon and cotton fabrics make for effortless everyday pieces, while colour blocking and monochrome details are highlighted by more elegant materials such as silk and Italian leather.
The collection will be available exclusively on the e-commerce platform of the famous brand Luisaviaroma, which together with LINEAPELLE and Ermanno Scervino, is a partner of the I’M Alumni Collections ®evolution project.
