alessandro de benedetti

Alessandro De Benedetti started his career studying illustration, fashion and design at Istituto Marangoni Milano, graduating in 1994. After a short two-year experience in Paris, spent in Thierry Mugler’s high fashion workroom, De Benedetti returned to Italy and started designing namesake collections in a visionary and cinematic style which immediately grabbed the attention of international buyers. He made his debut on the catwalks in Milano in 2002, with a collection inspired by the wrestling divas and artist Cameron Jamie. A few years later, the centre stage was taken by the ‘gypsy, esoteric cow-girls’ presented in his “Gothic Western Collection”, during a fashion show in which the designer had involved Chilean cartoonist and playwright Alejandro Jodorowsky in person.

In the same year, 2007, he became the artistic director of Exte by Ittierre Group, and reinvented the concept of suit declining it in the treated jeans & knit sweater version. In 2008 he was invited as guest of honor at the “Russian Fashion Week” in Moscow for the collection titled “Lux Aeterna”, inspired by Mary Shelley and the early nineteenth century marquetry lace craft techniques. Since 2013 he has been working as a creative director at Mila Schön’s Maison for the international relaunch of the brand; here, he has designed the first Mila Schön Milano collection and luxury collection Atelier Mila Schön.
