With a Bachelor’s degree in architecture from Politecnico di Milano, at some point in his life Alessandro Lastella decided that his drawings were deemed to express something more immediate and fleeting rather than the solidity of architecture. Today he works with Neil Barrett as a Menswear Designer, where he is able to combine the ‘nostalgic mysticism’ of his style with the luxury minimal style of the English brand.
Designing garments gives him the freedom to constantly come up with new ideas and innovate with greater prospect, although he proudly maintains the technical discipline acquired during his training at Istituto Marangoni, from which he graduated in Fashion Design back in 2013. Some of his early work experiences include a 2-year collaboration with Umit Benan and a position as product developer at Damir Doma luxury clothing brand.
In spite of the fact that designing for established brands is what he has been involved with so far, in 2014 Alessandro launched a personal menswear collection presented in St. Petersburg and Shanghai, which was then developed with the addition of some womenswear pieces.
