enrique cordero martinez
He is currently a designer for Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister in the United States. His meteoric career began with studies in fashion design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. At the end of the first year, he managed to get an internship as an assistant designer for the magazine GQ UK. Istituto Marangoni then offered him the opportunity to continue his studies in London. There, Alexander McQueen invited him to do an internship as a graphic designer of printed patterns for clothing and accessories. At school he designed a collection for Abercrombie and Fitch and at the end of two weeks was selected for interviews with Abercrombie in America.
Meanwhile, in London, his collection at the end of the course was inspired by plastic surgery, corsets and bandages, suggested by a painting by Frida Kahlo. One of the prints developed for this collection will be used by the brand LAEX of Los Angeles (www.laex.us) for their Spring / Summer 2014 line.
Shortly after graduating from IM, he started working for Abercrombie and Fitch in the United States. He designed for their flagship line for almost a year. The company then proposed designing for the women’s line of the brand Hollister, a brand with a very high production quantity and availability around the world. The work consists of designing and developing textiles, threads, fabrics and goods as well as concepts for future lines. Working with Abercrombie has given Enrique the opportunity to deal with companies in other countries and to travel around the world in order to find inspiration and learn about all the elements involved in the production process of a multi-million dollar company.
