Hailing from Guatemala, Karla Garzaro, designer of the namesake brand, loves to define her style in one simple but clear word: chic. In her creations she combines class and Parisian refinement with the elegance of Milan, two cities she knows very well thanks to her studies.
Karla started her career in Milan, with a degree in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni.
A love story beginning when she was extremely young: Karla was only 15 years old when she felt madly in love with fashion and design and wanted to be part of this world.
After graduating, in 2012 she went back to Guatemala to stablished her own brand, creating a unique personalized womenswear design and then becoming a ready-to-wear brand, recognized for her sober designs, with solid colors and unique volumes, shapes and cuts.
Karla is known by her elegant and feminine style, reflected in her particular and detailed sleeves, exotic ruffles and beautiful flare and movement in her fabrics.
For the Guatemalan designer, fashion means creating a unique trend and style that is an integral part of people’s lives. The body becomes a way to communicate fashion and everyone inner nature, dressing it in a unique style and highlighting it without excesses, but with the aim of always feeling at ease.
Karla Garzaro’s brand has been in the market for more than 4 years now, with a studio in Guatemala City, and also selling in Panama, Ecuador and US.
Karla recently presented her own collections at Guatemala Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, at New York Fashion Week, and in her showrooms in Miami, Panama and Ecuador. Her goal for the future is to further extend the brand, covering other markets and representing Guatemala in the world.
Moreover, Karla’s intent is also to open a La Figata concept store, related to the magazine she founded and launched on social networks. The concept of La Figata does not only highlight Karla Garzaro prêt-à-porter, but is also intended to present itself as a showcase for exclusive and emerging designer product.
