Tianyi Li was born in China and moved to England with her family when she was very young. In 2014, Tianyi’s creative talent was scouted by Istituto Marangoni at London Graduate Fashion Week. Her BA graduate collection ‘VIVA LA VIDA’ earned her a full scholarship to attend a Master’s course in Womenswear Design at Istituto Marangoni in London that enabled her to further develop her design skills.

Tianyi Master’s graduate collection ‘LABYRINTH’ was selected to walk the runway during Istituto Marangoni’s 80th Anniversary fashion show, held in Milan in 2015. This was a rewarding experience that further encouraged Tianyi to pursue her career in fashion. During her Masters course at Istituto Marangoni, Tianyi was able to work on projects with brands like Fyodor Golan, Vivienne Westwood and Laura Biagiotti.

She also interned at Giles Deacon and Alexander McQueen during her placement period. After graduation, Tianyi Li worked as a design assistant for Ethologie and Ellis Bridals, renowned bridal atelier. Tianyi took part in the selection of the designer for the second edition of I’M Alumni Collections ®evolution, unique mentoring project aimed at supporting talent, sending her proposal for the S/S19 collection.

Her avantgarde creative signature and technical competences, won over the Committee evaluation and she was therefore elected as winner. Tianyi will present her first official collection ‘LIGHT & SPACE’ in September 2018, during Milan Fashion Week.
