Design courses

The Design School offers numerous courses in the areas of interior, industrial and visual design, in order to meet the diverse needs of candidates, and is divided into main areas, undergraduate programmes, postgraduate programmes and short courses which are divided in turn into severals types of programmes.

BA (HONS) DEGREES** · THREE-YEAR COURSES*

These undergraduate programmes are designed for participants looking to enter the design field. They provide a complete education at undergraduate level and allow participants to acquire all of the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out a profession in their chosen subject.


* Students who successfully complete the programmes ‘AFAM’ taught in Milano will be awarded the Diploma Accademico di I Livello. Recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education as an academic diploma equivalent to a university undergraduate level degree, students will obtain 180 CFA (crediti formativi accademici) equivalent to 180 ECTS credits. ** Participants who successfully complete the programmes taught in English in London will be awarded a BA (Hons) degree by Manchester Metropolitan University-UK; 120 credit points must be earned for each year of study in order for an honours degree to be awarded, so students will obtain 360 credits upon successful completion of the three-year course. Participants on the four-year sandwich course will receive 120 practice credits for the additional year. All candidates should meet specific requirements (please check the website www.mmu.ac.uk/international indicating your nationality and study level). MASTER’S DEGREES** · MASTER'S COURSES*

These full time postgraduate level courses are specialised programmes that support participants’ careers the design industries. They are designed for those who have already acquired specific skills in the appropriate area at undergraduate level, or for industry professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge of a specific subject area in design.


* Students who successfully complete the programmes taught in Milano will be awarded an Istituto Marangoni certificate.
**Participants who successfully complete the programmes taught in English in London will be awarded with a Master’s Degree by (Manchester Metropolitan University-UK; Master’s Degrees include a 12-week work placement. Participants obtain 180 credits upon successful completion of the MA course. All candidates should meet specific entry requirements (please check www2.mmu.ac.uk/international/ for international equivalents).
