All I want for Christmas is you—and more fashion store openings

Shake-ups in the creative director role mean a whole new vibe—from products to store aesthetics. Strolling down via Montenapoleone in Milan feels like a breath of fresh, revamped air. Sure, there’s the festive glow of Christmas lights and Jingle Bells echoing from shop windows, but the real magic on this deluxe shopping street is the stores themselves. It’s like Santa pulled a style heist in the dead of night, giving the city centre a slick makeover—in under 24 hours!

Need examples? The revamped Gucci boutique showcases distinctive elements of Milanese architecture in an essential setting, elevating Gucci collections with clean lines and hues that emphasise quality, authenticity, and Italian distinctiveness in a seamless environment. Materials and furnishings were thoughtfully selected to harmonise with these values and the style of their new creative director, Sabato De Sarno.

The ‘cipollino’ and ‘bardiglio’ marble flooring, arranged in intricate geometric patterns, pay homage to elements found in some of the city’s most iconic residential projects. The use of Venetian ‘pulegoso’ glass for shelves and other details is a broader nod to Italian tradition. Seats and tables from some of the most iconic names in Italian design, such as Cassina, B&B, Living Divani, and Minotti, were meticulously chosen to align with the creative vision of Sabato De Sarno

The space is further adorned with a selection of artworks curated by Truls Blaasmo, adding a layer of artistic privilege. The boutique is designed to create a visual experience, encouraging interaction and dialogue between emerging talents and established artists. The collection available not only demonstrates a profound connection with the artistic heritage being showcased but also initiates a dynamic discourse on the interplay of colour and form. Masterpieces by Milanese luminaries such as Lucio Fontana, Getulio Alviani, Franco Mazzucchelli, and Liliana Moro are juxtaposed with works by international artists like Nathlie Provosty, Jaime Poblete, Adji Dieye, and Augustas Serapinas, creating a dynamic narrative.
