After graduating cum laude in Law and working for some time as a sales & marketing consultant at P&G in Ankara, he decided to give up his established career in favour of his passion for Fashion. In 2010 he completed the Fashion Design intensive course at Istituto Marangoni Milano, then, back to Istanbul, he worked as a junior designer for the menswear brand Damat-Tween and earned the second place prize in a design competition organized by Eagen Exporters Association and sponsored by Vogue Turkey in 2013. In the same year he won a scholarship which led him back to Italy, where he completed the Master’s in Fashion Design Menswear of Istituto Marangoni. Winner of the ISKO Denim 2014 competition, he is currently attending his second Master’s programme in Luxury Accessories Design & Management with the School of Design in Milano. Streamline is the curricular project developed by Ruhi Cogal and is a shoes and accessories capsule collection for SS16 season inspired by the Art Deco style of the 1930s. The project follows a path from minimalism to conceptualism in order to establish a strong accessory wardrobe for today’s metropolitan-chic men and women. The Streamline collection consists of two shoe models for men and two for women, both supported by functional bags and backpacks. The concept of the collection was influenced by the modern aerodynamic principles developed for aviation and ballistics, even applied, later on, to objects not intended to move, such as refrigerators and city buildings. In line with the principles of the Art Deco style, each detail in the Streamline collection is strictly minimal. Each piece was designed to be functional and comfortable at the same time. High tech leathers in nuances shading from black to gray have been combined with innovative soles and Art Deco-inspired heels enriched with glam gold details, resulting in unique, stylish creations.
