TEILEN
Istituto Marangoni opens the first school in America: on January 27th the Group officially inaugurates the new Miami School of Fashion, within an exclusive event, where talented alumni will showcase their collections. With a prestigious and state-of-the-art location in the heart of Miami Design District, the school will provide an unparalleled education in fashion to young talents in the Americas, blending Italian craftsmanship, international allure and local know-how. At 6pm, at the Istituto Marangoni Building, Roberto Riccio and Hakan Baykam, respectively C.E.O. of Istituto Marangoni Group and President of Istituto Marangoni Miami, will present the new school in a joint press conference and will host the ribbon cutting ceremony, officially inaugurating the campus. The evening continues at the prestigious Moore Building, where guests will attend an exclusive fashion show within a futuristic and unique set-up. Four talented students who last year graduated in one of the Group’s European Schools will showcase their end-of-the-year collections. Ece Sahin, London graduate, will show her collection “…and then I recognized her”, in which she used high-end 3D printing techniques. Claudio Maria Potenti, Milano graduate, will follow with his collection “Anne Marie de Rothschild”, created by the encounter between different traditions and time periods. Lu Xia, who graduated in Milano as well, will showcase “Go Zone”, with outfits made of colorful wools inspired by Tibetan clothing pieces. Lastly, Iryna Demyanchuk, Paris graduate and Global Designer of the Year for 2017, will present “Gold Sport”, inspired by sport menswear from the 1930s and beautiful mix of French elegance and American informal style. It will then be time for Armando Costa to rock the catwalk: alumnus of the Milano School of Fashion and protagonist of the first edition of the innovative mentoring project I’M Alumni Collections ®evolution, Armando will showcase his first collection, “Horror Vacui”, inspired by the time of the journey through cultures and historical periods. After the fashion show, celebration will continue with a dj set from The Dolls (Mia Moretti + Margot), eclectic duo awarded as dj of the year by Paper Magazine, boasting collaborations with prominent artists such as Stevie Wonder and Katy Perry.
