Ermanno Scervino, cosmopolitan designer and owner of the namesake Florentine fashion house, was named as the new Brand Ambassador of Istituto Marangoni the School of Fashion and Art. Prestigious player in the international fashion scene, committed to tailoring elegance and Made in Italy quality, Ermanno Scervino is a worthy representative of the values of excellence which Istituto Marangoni has been conveying to its students for over 80 years. In his role as a Brand Ambassador, Scervino will make his professional experience available to students by supporting the Market & Industry Relationship Dept. of Istituto Marangoni in the promotion of valuable student development projects at his company, while fostering inspiring meeting opportunities aimed at providing first-hand experience and at deepening aspects linked to the brand, the designer’s stylistic imprint and his entrepreneurial activity. Ermanno Scervino founded his Maison in Florence in 2000, succeeding in becoming a synonym of Made in Italy and international style in just a few years. Self-taught, he has drawn his knowledge from the great masters of Italian fashion and luxury, breathing the fervid atmosphere of the coolest fashion cities of the 1970s and 1980s: from Paris to New York, and including London. His unmistakable style of innovative and emancipated luxury is distinguished by unexpected combinations of materials and cuts, by the extreme attention to sartorial quality and by the close relationship with the territory, meant as a source of aesthetic inspiration and a place of craft tradition. In 2007, a complex of couture labs was inaugurated on the outskirts of Florence, where the Designer follows closely the creation of each piece down to the smallest details. The appointment of Scervino confirms the close bond between Istituto Marangoni and the fashion industry, in Italy and around the world alike, emphasising the uniqueness of the educational project pursued by the School in the training of Tomorrow’s fashion professionals.
