Istituto Marangoni launches I’M Alumni Collections ®evolution, a new mentoring project designed to support and promote the work of outstanding alumni. Armando Costa, alumnus of the Milano School of Fashion and currently a tutor at the Paris School, was selected for the first edition and showcased his collection on September 23, 2017 during Milano Moda Donna. A one of a kind project, I’M Alumni Collections ®evolution confirms Istituto Marangoni's commitment to enhancing talented designers through economic and organizational support with the aim of rewarding talent and fostering the career development of its students. The young talents selected for this special initiative are invited to bring in their own brand and idea for a fashion collection. Istituto Marangoni will support them at every stage of the project, from the collection's production - also creating profitable collaborations with fabric and clothing manufacturers - to the organization of a fashion show advertised through the main online and offline communication channels, and up to the introduction of the new brand to major showrooms. The first edition of this ambitious project will promote Armando Costa, who left Milano after graduating in 2006 to move to Paris, where he currently works as a stylist consultant for several fashion brands and collaborates with Istituto Marangoni as a tutor at the Paris School of Fashion. His collection, pure expression of horror vacui and inspired by the theme of the journey through different cultures and historical periods, was presented on September 23rd, 2017, at the prestigious Sala delle Cariatidi in Palazzo Reale: an exclusive fashion show that took place within the official calendar of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana during Milano Moda Donna, in front of an audience of press, stakeholders and industry professionals. Many thanks go to the project’s partners: Lanificio Luigi Ricceri for the fabrics and Grazia Bagnaresi for the collection. A special thank you to Swarovski for having enriched the collection with its precious crystals.
