Istituto Marangoni took part in the 92nd edition of the long-established Pitti Immagine Uomo fashion event in Florence, scheduled from 12 to 16 June, 2017. An international catwalk and an exclusive venue dedicated to the best Fashion Design students and Alumni of the School. Less than a year after the opening of the School of Fashion & Art in Florence, Istituto Marangoni has carved out an important niche within the calendar of Pitti Immagine, an international platform for the fashion and lifestyle industry which works in promoting innovative styles and contemporary trends. The event featuring the most talented students of Istituto Marangoni’s Menswear area was scheduled for 13 June, starting at 2.30 pm within the premises of the former Bank of Rome at 5, Via dei Vecchietti, Florence. Here, in a brand new location for the events of Pitti Uomo, near the school in the heart of the historical centre, 10 new Fashion Design graduates from several schools of the IM network - Nicola Ferorelli, Choi Yeon In, Hu Xin, Claudio Maria Potenti and Giorgia Gentile from Milano; Ibrahim Musa Rabiu, Soo Ah Jee and Cha Hui Low from London; Iryna Demyanchuk and Lucia Miterli from Paris - presented the collections designed for the final Graduate Fashion Show. Choi Yeon In was awarded 2017 International Menswear Designer of the year. On the same day, Istituto Marangoni also sponsored two fashion shows in support of as many talented Alumni of the School. At 4.30 pm, Jeetinder Sandhu, owner of the eponymous brand already widely appreciated during London and Berlin Fashion Weeks, presented 'A Rendezvous with Shoes', a men's shoe collection which reinterprets classic style through the use of bright colours and sophisticated materials. The day rounded off at 7.00 pm with a fashion show for Plùs Que Ma Vìe’s S/S 2018 ‘Downhill Hardcore Luxury’ collection, designed by the brand’s founder Andrea Lazzari, who blends classic Menswear style with Underground details, arranging sportswear and high-tech Made in Italy fabrics into a more formal clothing style. Istituto Marangoni Group Managing Director, Roberto Riccio expressed his satisfaction at the support offered to past and present students of the School, who are given a unique and concrete opportunity to interact with professionals of the fashion industry, even on the prestigious stage of an international fashion and style platform of the likes of Pitti Immagine.
