ISTITUTO MARANGONI FIRENZE AND WIRED NEXT FEST

THE "DIGITAL CHALLENGE" TO REVOLVE FASHION AND ART SYSTEMS
09 Juli 2020
TEILEN
The Wired Next Fest, the largest Italian event dedicated to digital innovation, now at its tenth edition, this year totally renews itself and takes place in two ways: both online and on site, for a duration of four months. Istituto Marangoni Firenze will be present at the festival as the exclusive educational partner. On July 9th, on the occasion of the festival stage dedicated to the "New Normal", Francesca Giulia Tavanti, Programme Leader of Art at the florentine headquarters of the school and outstanding spokesperson for the festival, will deal with the theme of "Digital Challenge" alongside the Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli who, during the Covid-19 emergency, launched his first digital project on the Instagram account of Fondazione Prada: Love Stories - A Sentimental Survey, curated by Eva Fabbris. Starting from May 11th, every day, the artist has published a story related to a couple of celebrities, inviting followers of Fondazione Prada, or more generally all Instagram users, to participate in the survey by choosing between two options linked to the mythology of this love story. "Experiencing a new territory of sharing ideas, visions and impressions about love, sex, identity, body, loneliness, belonging, the future" - in this way the artist describes his own project which in fact proposes itself as "a reflection on human destinies in a moment marked by uncertainty, suspension and desire to restart". Many exponents of the two sectors including stylists, photographers, curators and institutions ask themselves what role digital will play in these areas and how the past and the present can coexist under the technological push. Another highly topical issue that will be addressed during the Festival is the relationship between art and its audience, which, also thanks to digital innovations, becomes increasingly an active agent in the realization of the work itself. We will talk about this and much more on July 9th at 4pm on the screens of Wired Next Fest 2020.
