open seminar in sweden
"Luxe in Flux: Fashion for the 21st century"
Istituto Marangoni School of Fashion London faculty member Kirstin Scott will hold a seminar on the ethical scenarios relating to today’s fashion industry. "Luxe in Flux: Fashion for the 21st century" will investigate the alternative approaches to design, business and consumption in the world of fashion. Throughout the month of May, Scott’s lecture will take place in Malmo, Göteborg and Stockholm.
The fashion industry is an ever-changing show. Nowadays, the opportunities afforded by innovation and technology merge with the growing importance of sustainability issues in shaping future trends. Kirstin Scott will look at this world to describe the changing landscape of fashion, discuss any possible alternatives and provide insights into the ethical fashion industry. The presentation will be followed by a workshop on plaiting braids, which will show how an ancient historic craft can find new, contemporary applications for fashion.
