(Recognition of Prior Learning)
The School welcomes applications from prospective students who wish to enter one of our BA (Hons) or MA programmes at a later stage or gain exemption from specific units on the basis of prior learning or experience.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows you to use your existing qualifications (RPCL) and experience (RPEL) towards the entry requirements of a degree or to exempt you from units/modules that overlap closely with your existing awards.
Transferring from another university can be challenging, but the RPL process at Istituto Marangoni ensures you make the most of your previous education while integrating you into our specialised fashion and design programmes. Here’s why the RPL process could be the perfect step forward:
The RPL option is ideal for students who have already completed part of their education elsewhere but are now looking to focus on Fashion, or Design at Istituto Marangoni. Whether you’re transferring from another university or switching your major, RPL helps you integrate smoothly into our programs.
Switching universities or courses doesn’t have to mean losing progress. RPL offers several advantages for students in transition:
RPL is designed to integrate your previous academic or professional experience into your new journey at Istituto Marangoni. RPL can only be used to exempt a whole level at undergraduate level (not part of a level), or one-third of a masters course. Academic credit must have been achieved within the previous three years to be eligible for RPL. For more information regarding the RPL eligibility, please refer to the RUL Academic Regulations: Assessment and Course Regulations on the Regulatory page of the website.
