During Salone del Mobile 2015, the School of Design Istituto Marangoni Milano will take part in Salone Satellite and in Fuori Salone. From April 14th to 19th, 2015, the participants in the Master’s Course in Italian Product Design will showcase the work done under the guidance of the Art Director of the School of Design Giulio Cappellini. These are scale models, prototypes and videos of seating furniture that ensure the user a feeling of isolation and intimacy in high-traffic public areas. Confirming the close collaboration with Cappellini brand, the students’ designs will also be exhibited at the prominent Cappellini showroom on via Santa Cecilia, in the heart of Milan, a not-to-be-missed Fuori Salone venue. Projects on display include the scale prototype of 'Koji', an innovative system of enveloping seats created by the young designer Ai Xin. Other models, such as 'The Hive' by Maria Aramburu Mulas, 'Flux' by Aiste Stragyte, 'Moment' by Chia Yin Tu, and 'Noom' by Tann Kamthornthip, will be shown through video presentations. Speaking of multimedia proposals, an inspiring movie about the promotion of Italian excellence products with a fashionable twist shot by Vitor Milito, who has just graduated with a Master’s degree in Multimedia & Interactive Design from the School of Design Istituto Marangoni, will be presented during the "Energy for Creativity" event organized by Interni and hosted by the University of Milano until May 24th. The video will be screened in an installation curated by the Lebanese architecture studio AKK & Associés. Participants in the Master’s programme in Home Luxury Collection Design, instead, carried out a project of interior design for an Airport lounge with a focus on aesthetic innovation. Salone Satellite will feature 'Fluid Shelter' by Erica Giacomelli, Javier Velo and Kirill Ivko, an extremely functional place of well-being which can be adapted to several international airports, while maintaining its style and concept. Finally, seizing the opportunity afforded by Salone del Mobile, Istituto Marangoni and Cappellini are set to launch SIT DOWN!, a contest where participants are invited to submit, by June 19th, 2015, an innovative seating concept inspired by a mix of Eastern and Western design realities. The projects will be judged by a prestigious jury and the winner will be awarded a scholarship to attend the Master’s programme in Italian Product Design offered by Cappellini furniture and interior design company. The School of Design Info Point is open at via Cerva 24 (from 14th to 17th April · 9.30am  6.30pm –  from 18th to 19th · 10.30am to 6.30pm). The guests have the chance to meet Giulio Cappellini, the italian guru design: once registered, they will receive an exclusive invitation for the next seminar dedicated to the 2015 Salone del Mobile new trends that will take place on April 23rd at 5.30pm. There are great expectations for this new appointment with excellence industrial products, as part of that innovative international design industry which, as stated by Cristina Morozzi, Director of Education of the School of Design Istituto Marangoni: “Is perfectly consistent with the goal of the School, that is, constantly stimulating students to engage in visionary projects, yet without losing sight of functionality and feasibility.”
