jailousy, free to dream. by ulises mezzadri

Ulises Mezzadri is currently attending the Master’s programme in Luxury Accessories Design & Management at the School of Fashion of Istituto Marangoni Milano. Born in Spain in 1990, he has always been passionate about design and accessories and for this reason he decided to fulfil his dream studying artisanal shoemaking in Buenos Aires at first, and working later as a patternmaker for several brands in Argentina, before even opening a workshop to make tailored shoes. In 2014 he won a scholarship that allowed him to move to Italy in order to feed his talent at Istituto Marangoni School of Fashion in Milano. Ulises Mezzadri carried out a curricular project titled JAILOUSY, inspired by prison uniforms. JAILOUSY is a SS16 shoes collection developed for Diego Dolcini, Italian brand specializing in stylish, feminine footwear in a blend of technological innovation and wise craftsmanship. In line with one of the core values of Diego Dolcini brand – to express dreams and emotions as ideal fulfilment of feminine beauty – Ulises elaborates the feeling of change in an ironic key, by representing an invented prison where things lost from inside are replaced by the unexpected. The capsule collection JAILOUSY stands out with clean, feminine lines. Luxury materials are shaped into models inspired by the uniforms worn by prisoners in jail, which provides a biting, ironic touch yet without giving up luxury and elegance.
