Below you can find the school's common rules to create a better and safer environment for all students:
For security reasons it is mandatory to sign in and sign out with your badge every time you enter and exit from School.
In the classrooms, at the library and in the common areas it is not allowed to eat and drink, except for water. Please be mindful of your responsibility in our shared spaces: do not write on whiteboards, projector screens, or desks.
When you finish class, please make sure to take all your belongings with you, as well as materials used for patternmaking.
Spaces at the Cafeteria are designed for eating, but if you need a space for studying you are free to make use of the library or ask for classroom availability to the school staff at the Front Desk.
It is strictly forbidden to stand in groups in the fire escape stairs by the lifts.
It is not allowed to leave your baggage and personal belongings at the reception.
It is not allowed to bring animals in class, unless authorized. The same holds for friends and relatives.
The use of the elevator is a service shared by all, so we kindly ask you to not exceed the maximum capacity when using it.
Smoking rules: you can smoke only in the dedicated areas.
Moreover, we would like to suggest 2 common rules that apply to all of us: keeping windows open and ventilating spaces might be of help in maintaining a healthy environment; sustainability is at the core of the school: turning down the thermostat can have a huge impact on the environment and on our carbon footprint.

Many websites and mobile apps will help you feel good. Here are a few recommendations:
Pure consciousness, yoga and relaxation:
As an Istituto Marangoni student you have a Student ID, which you can find among your admission documents, and a reserved online platform – One Login – to access your student's intranet and a personal email account: from the moment your classes start, you must use this account only (the e-mail address is created as: StudentID@istitutomarangoni.org). Please check your account frequently, as it will be used to send all messages and updates about the school.
Moreover, IM SOCIETY App is available for download on iOS App Store and Google Play Store, to have at hand your student badge, course timetable and for any useful tips about the School. Let us remind you to set your smartphone timezone to the Parisian timezone in order to correctly see the timetable on the IM SOCIETY App. Please note that there are 2 switches in a year, from daylight saving time (summer time) to solar time (winter time), starting from the last Sunday of October (clocks go back 1 hour) and vice versa, in late March (clocks go forward 1 hour). Your timetable will adjust automatically, class time remains the same from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
As an Istituto Marangoni student, after logging in to your OneLogin portal you will have exclusive access to these softwares and platforms to facilitate you during your studies:
Please follow these steps to contact them effectively:

In particular, during Fashion Weeks, companies might ask for free support from students. It is a great opportunity for you to gather experience in the field and make yourself known. If you are interested in collaborating as a dresser during Fashion Week, keep an eye on the app: we will send you a notification as soon as a new opportunity opens up.
Here are some basic guidelines:
Dress code: total black, comfortable clothes and shoes, as you will be running around a lot;
Punctuality: be on site a little earlier than the actual call time;
English: you must speak English fluently, as it is the most common language spoken backstage;
Listen closely to the instructions from the producers and the designers;
A fashion company counts on you: once confirmed, don’t miss the event. It is a matter of professionalism.
Keep in mind that this is a volunteer experience and not attending class while participating will not be justified. Please check carefully your timetable before applying.
Usually, the Fashion Weeks in Paris take place during: January for Menswear F/W collections; February for Womenswear F/W collections; June for Menswear S/S collections: September for Womenswear S/S collections
Istituto Marangoni would like to hear more about your study experience: for this reason, we kindly ask you to fill out a survey at the end of each term/semester and give us your honest feedback.
Please check the video guide.
You will receive an email on your account istitutomarangoni.org in which you will find a link that will directly address you to the questionnaire page.
You can also find the planned questionnaires on your Student Portal under the section "Questionnaires".
We promise it is short, and it will help improve everyone's experience in the future.
Some technical suggestions:
Please be sure you do not open any other window for browsing and/or use any software. Complete and send your answers considering that you will need 3-5 mins to fill in the questionnaire.
Your questionnaire is correctly sent when you reach the confirmation page.
Your answers will then be elaborated in an anonymous and aggregated way, with the only purposes of improving the services offered by our Institute and will be processed respecting privacy laws currently in place.
According to our policy, “Istituto Marangoni Cross-School Experience” is the opportunity for three-year students to apply to pursue studies in a different School (in the subsequent academic year to attend the same course). Please note each year the Cross School policy is published around January.
Each year to progress with your enrolment to the subsequent year of study you will be asked to provide the following payments within these deadlines:
What is the online admissions platform? By using the Online Admission platform, it is possible to apply for an Istituto Marangoni academic course, following the online procedure (except for payment via bank transfer): you can fill out the admission form, pay via credit card and upload the receipt; for payment via bank transfer, it is possible to upload the required documents and have access to all the enrolment documents.
What are the advantages of applying online? The online procedure allows taking, in one ‘virtual space’, all the necessary steps for your application monitoring the progressing of your request, having access to all the documents and certificates of your application.
Who can I contact if I cannot register? For technical issues with the registration, please contact our technical support, sending an e-mail to ao-support@istitutomarangoni.com and describing the problem in detail. For any other support on the application procedure, do not hesitate to contact the Admission Office of the School you are applying for.
I have already attended Istituto Marangoni and I want to apply for a new course. Should I insert my student details? If you are a former Istituto Marangoni student, you must register as an existing student, inserting your student ID and the e-mail address registered during your first enrolment. In this way, your data is extracted and available in your admission form. Please, remember to communicate any change of personal data to the Admission Office for approval.
Through the online procedure can I apply for the following years or my course? No, with the Online Admission platform, it is possible to apply only for the first years of academic courses.
I have already enrolled in a course, but I want to change to another one. How do I do this? It is possible to request to change the course chosen directly from your profile, by clicking at the bottom of your profile on the “change course” button.
Such a request will be reviewed by the admission office of the school within 10 working days.
In the case it is accepted, the advancement (uploaded docs and any payments made) relative to the previous enrolment will be transferred to the new enrolment; further documents and a supplementary payment may be required.
Inserted the wrong data into my application, how can I modify it? If the application has already been sent, it is impossible to modify it. You have to contact the Admission Office of the chosen School to proceed with the necessary modifications.
I cannot complete the payment by card, what shall I do? The main causes of error during the payment process are the following:
We remind you that you can also complete the payment via bank transfer, in this case, remember to print the pro forma with all the details and to deliver it to your bank to proceed with the payment (pay attention to the reason for payment to make sure the payment is associated to your application). You will have to scan the receipt and upload it in the ‘payment’ section.
You will receive confirmation e-mail after payment verification by the Admission Office.
I cannot upload a document, what can I do?Make sure your popups are activated and try changing browser; if the problem persists, please write to ao-support@istitutomarangoni.com describing the problem in detail (write, if possible, the browser you used and send screenshots of what you visualise on the screen).
One or more sent documents state “refused” what does it mean? The Admission Office makes sure that all the documents are aligned with the requested standard and with the admission requirements; if they are not, the office rejects the documents sending an explanatory message, to your personal area. At this point, you will have to upload a new document, aligned with the request. Should you need further information and/or need support, do not hesitate to contact the Admission Office of the School you applied for.
I have not received any response on the sent documents, what shall I do? Make sure you have sent all the uploaded documents correctly (in the ‘Documents’ section you should not see the ‘upload document’ button of the document you attend confirmation for, the document will result as ‘pending’); we also remind you that after uploading, you must click on ‘send’ at the bottom of the page.
The Admission Office can give feedback on the documents in a few working days.
In here you will have an overall picture about faculties and staff duties, as well as each department’s responsibilities:

If you are a first-time student here in France, please speak with the Admissions department about how to go about applying for a visa from your country of origin. Paris is generally regarded as a safe city. However, like any other destination, it is advisable to exercise caution and take necessary precautions when traveling abroad, whether it is in Paris or elsewhere around the globe. As a student of Istituto Marangoni, you can rest assured knowing that you have access to dedicated support services provided by International SOS, which you can find detailed information about in the Health & Assistance section. This ensures that you can enjoy your time in Paris with peace of mind, knowing that assistance is readily available should you need it.
When it comes to finding housing solutions, it is important to exercise caution, especially when relying on listings found on social media platforms. While some listings may appear promising, there is often a higher risk of encountering scams or unreliable sources when dealing with advertisements on social media.
Therefore, to ensure the safety and reliability of your housing arrangements, it is advisable to seek assistance from reputable agencies that specialize in housing accommodations. These agencies typically have a vetting process in place for listings and can provide you with trustworthy options that meet your needs and preferences.
To help you find your ideal accommodation away from home, Istituto Marangoni Paris has partnered with housing agencies Studapart, Paris Hospitality and Blueground with different solutions according to your needs. By contacting them, you will be able to pick from a wide choice of short and long-term housing options.
Renting an apartment in Paris often involves some paperwork. It is crucial to carefully review the lease agreement before signing it to safeguard your rights and ensure you're getting a fair deal. This is why we highly recommend seeking assistance from IM partners – they are equipped to guide you through this process.
Typically, landlords in Paris request a security deposit equivalent to 3 months' rent, along with 1 month's rent paid in advance. The lease agreement may include the cost of heating and utilities. If so, it's advisable to request that the landlord itemize these expenses at the end of the year, providing you with a clear breakdown of actual costs.
Following the signing of the lease, either the landlord or the tenant must register the contract. In case you wish to terminate the rental contract, you will need to send a formal letter, typically two months before vacating the property.
Istituto Marangoni’s IM SchoolMates play an important role representing Istituto Marangoni Paris: you will work together with the IM Life team to guarantee a positive impact on students’ well-being and make student experience at Istituto Marangoni and in the city of Paris richer and complete.
The SchoolMates group is an inclusive community of peers, welcoming any Istituto Marangoni student who wishes to apply, join and propose new activities as well. For further information, please do not hesitate to refer to the Reception desk or to the IM Life Office.
