MIAMI

Short courses in Fashion Styling provide participants with the principle techniques in creating contemporary images for fashion magazines and online media channels. Fashion stylists play a major role in the style and image of a fashion collection, brand or product. Stylists work on the presentation of creative ideas and upcoming trends to produce successful visual communication proposals for magazine photo shoots, editorial and advertorial campaigns, for online brand promotion, or social media channels to name just a few. Starting with theoretical concepts related to image, styling, photography and visual communication, participants are introduced to key notions and techniques in graphic design and photography, in creating and editing real photo shoots, as well as editorial styling proposals for magazines, blogs and social media. Participants also take a close look at marketing for fashion brands and learn how to apply visual communication skills to communicate the right image and message in order to create marketing proposals for a strong brand identity. To further enrich participants understanding and appreciation of this global, fast paced industry, cultural issues cover the history of art and dress, a brief history of photography and image, and the ‘fashion system’. For personal enrichment and enjoyment, avocational courses are offered in a series of two (2) distinct levels ranging from a foundation introductory level, working through to a higher comprehension of skill and study. This enables a ‘flexible learning experience’ for participants to select and build on their own experience and personal achievement.
