Irune Barrenechea is a Textile Designer and sourcing specialist with over ten years of experience in the fashion industry. During her academic studies, she first attended an Intensive course in Fashion Design in 2017 at Istituto Marangoni Milano school; the following year, she attended a Master's course in Contemporary Fashion Buying at Istituto Marangoni Paris.
Irune began her career in production roles at Chic & Sympathique and Anamui, later expanding into styling by collaborating with Vogue and Acne Studios in 2017. In 2018, she joined Louis Vuitton initially working with the RTW Menswear team by contributing to creative textile development and sourcing under Virgil Abloh. Since 2023, she has served as Textile Development and Buying Manager for Show Collections at Louis Vuitton.
In parallel, Irune shares her industry knowledge as a tutor in Fashion Business and Fibers & Materials at Istituto Marangoni Paris. Her key areas of expertise include textile development, textile design, collection coordination, sourcing, and entrepreneurship.
Irune is one of Istituto Marangoni's official I'M Mentors on the I'M Alumni Platform.
