Top autumn beauty trends 2025, including skinimalism, no-mascara looks, bitten berry lips, and nostalgic haircuts, with pro recommendations
What a whirlwind it’s been! In just one summer, TikTok has both crowned and buried half a dozen trends, from champagne chrome nails to under-eye blush to butter yellow explosions, all while we kept chasing the next viral lip combo. Plus, we’ve experimented with an overwhelming amount of skincare products.
Now, as we look beyond summer, it’s time to spotlight the beauty trends of 2025 that are set to remain through the coming chilly months, according to the experts. Forget playing with Brat-inspired makeup and those violet eyeshadows straight from the 2000s—staples that carried us through last year’s back-to-work season. This autumn marks the emergence of four defining beauty trends that will shape our daily routines.

Skinimalism Makeup 2025: How to Get the Perfect Autumn Glow
The skinimalism trend, which combines skincare with minimal makeup for a fresh and radiant look, has firmly taken centre stage and shows no sign of fading anytime soon.
However, downsizing your autumn beauty routine doesn’t mean you have to compromise on effectiveness. Skinimalism is the middle ground between essential makeup and bare-faced beauty, simplifying both your skincare and makeup routines to highlight your skin’s texture.
This movement embraces the “less is more” philosophy, emphasising the enhancement of natural beauty over heavy applications (goodbye, cakey looks!).
The key is to choose products that are effective and multi-functional. Through tinted moisturisers, lightweight serums, soft-toned blushers, and lip products with just a hint of colour or balm, you can achieve that lit-from-within glow. Multi-purpose products not only simplify your routine but also make it more cost-effective—saving you both time and money, which is a definite win-win.

No-Mascara Looks 2025: Tips for Bare Lashes and Minimalist Makeup
This back-to-work season will mark the height of the no-mascara trend. The rise of bare lashes isn’t just an aesthetic choice; it signals a cultural shift toward a new era of minimalist beauty. With the embrace of “skinimalism,” the focus has shifted to enhancing natural features rather than concealing them.
This autumn 2025 beauty trend has paved the way for alternatives such as lash lifts, nourishing serums, and natural treatments, which are rapidly replacing traditional volumising mascaras.
The cultural impact is undeniable. For decades, mascara has been seen as a beauty staple, with many considering it essential to avoid looking “unfinished.” Yet the no-mascara trend challenges this conventional belief, proving that glamour isn’t limited to a single product.
Much like the rise of bold brows and dewy skin, bare lashes have become a new form of self-expression, celebrating simplicity and authenticity. They are no longer seen as a lack of effort but as a statement of confidence and individuality, redefining what it means to be effortlessly stylish.

Bitten Berry Lips 2025: Application Tips for the Season’s Hottest Lip Trend
In 2024, lip trends were all about rosy-brown shades, but in 2025, the spotlight has moved to rich berry tones.
The beauty world is captivated by the “bitten berry” lip trend, which is inspired by the French concept of bouche mordue, meaning “just-bitten lips”. This look is achieved using semi-matte lipsticks or tinted balms in deep berry tones, paired with matching or slightly darker lip liners to enhance the lips’ natural shape. The result is a soft, blurred effect that mimics a just-bitten appearance, exuding a natural and effortless charm.
The appeal of bouche mordue lies in its understated elegance. Moving away from sharply defined lips, this trend embraces a gentle, intimate softness, reminiscent of having just savoured ripe berries. It thrives on delicate imperfection, making it ideal for those seeking a beauty routine that doesn’t require meticulous precision.

Nostalgic Haircuts 2025: The Rachel, Bobs, Shags & This Year’s Revival
In autumn 2025, hairstyle trends will focus on healthy, shiny hair, with an emphasis on layers, fringes, effortless styles and a gentle revival of timeless classics, all infused with a sense of nostalgia that feels both familiar and fresh.
The season will see the return of the iconic layered cut inspired by The Rachel—the unforgettable character played by Jennifer Aniston on “Friends”—now reimagined with fuller volume and a glossy, bouncy finish. This modern update channels the carefree spirit of the ‘90s while steering clear of the overly flat, ironed look of that era.
The rebellious streak remains strong with the enduring appeal of the shag. Defined by messy layers and enviable texture, this cut adapts to all hair types—straight, wavy, or curly. Its undone essence makes it perfect for a contemporary, low-maintenance look that still feels stylish.

The iconic Rachel cut returns. This time with more volume, bounce, and a high-shine finish.
Fringes also take centre stage in several charming variations, from face-framing wispy bangs to full Jane Birkin-style styles, updating some of the most beloved vintage looks.
Hybrid styles continue to make waves, blending elements of different cuts to create bold, modern statements. One standout style is the “bixie,” a fusion of the bob and pixie cuts, combining the structure of the former with the playful freshness of the latter, resulting in a confident, personality-packed look.
Meanwhile, the classic bob receives a modern update, confirming its status as one of the most enduring trends of the past three years. Whether worn blunt, textured, or softly tousled, today’s bob often incorporates slightly longer layers for added movement and sophistication, ideal for those seeking manageability without compromising on style.
