Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have been working together since 1999.
From industrial design to craft work, from large production runs to research, from the object to public space, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec‘s creations span multiple fields of expression and have gradually entered our daily lives.
Their career has been marked by collaborations with major international designers and artisans from Europe to Japan. Their research has also led them to work with the world’s most renowned museums. Their urban designs have been produced in numerous countries.
During the conversation, part of Enhancing The Future project, Mr Ronan Bouroullec talked about emotions, beauty, poetry and intelligence we can find in good design projects, how imperfections make objects unique and interesting. He also explained the importance of concentrating in the development of selected products, of being constantly open to innovation, creating things meant to last in time while nurturing the use of natural materials.
Regarding the pandemic situation, Ronan Bouroullec gave his point of view about how houses and public spaces will change, to what extent the contemporary society was ready for the changes brought by the crisis and flexibility and how we had to learn to do things with new approaches and methods.
