In late June the project Carte Blanche, launched in April by the renowned fashion editor, stylist and creative director Nicoletta Santoro and designed for third year Fashion Styling students of Istituto Marangoni Milano, came to an end.

Nicoletta boasts a brilliant career in the fashion industry: she’s been working as fashion editor beside the most prominents names belonging to the photography world: Avedon, Leibovitz, Lindbergh, Roversi, Meisel, as well as Max Vadukul, her partner in life, who is used to shoot for The New York Times Style Magazine, Esquire, Vogue China, Egoiste, Town & Country. 

Carte Blanche owes its name to the main focus of the project: giving carte blanche to all students, ensuring future stylists maximum freedom with their creative process. The challenge launched by Nicoletta Santoro required participants to reflect on how to turn a simple white shirt into a catwalk garment.

Students mainly worked on the customization and transformation of the garment, leaving room for the communication of their creative vision. Giulia Lentsch, Matilde Cafaro, Irene Casagrande, Federica Belalba, Matilde Bellotti, Paolo Vecchies, Bianca Giampieri, Elena Von Schlenk, Sicilia Pascucci, Finn Chen and Sarah Kelendji are the most deserving students, chosen among four classes of the third year, who were given the unique opportunity to shoot an editorial with the support of the renowned photographer Max Vadukul and to work side by side with Nicoletta Santoro for the styling part on the set.
