This is an extraordinary and unprecedented achievement: it is the first time that three students from the same school have simultaneously reached the final stage of the contest, whose mission is to support the educational journey of young talents and promote creative excellence in the knitwear sector.
The three finalists will collaborate with prestigious Italian companies: Melina Shibli with Alpes Manifattura Filati, Giulia Lin with Botto Giuseppe & Figli, and Elena Maria Brugnara with Manifattura Igea. Their projects will be developed based on the 2025 edition’s theme, “WISHLIST”, which invites participants to merge vision and craftsmanship, innovation and desire, in a harmonious dialogue between dream and reality.
The finalists were selected by an outstanding international jury composed of prominent figures from the fashion and textile industries: David Shah, Elisabetta Scarpini, Elke Dieterich, Laurie Pressman, Marie-Emmanuelle Belzung, Mirco Giovannini, Ornella Bignami, and Vanni Marchioni. The final event will take place during Pitti Immagine Filati, from 1 to 3 July 2025 in Florence. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 2 July, with a cash prize for the overall winner, along with the opportunity to create a capsule collection in collaboration with their yarn partner.
This remarkable milestone confirms the quality and relevance of the educational approach at Istituto Marangoni Firenze, which continues to guide students through a transformative journey that combines creativity, technical mastery, and direct connection with the industry. A success that celebrates talent and strengthens the School’s role as a leading institution for the next generation of fashion designers.
