In the context of the digital era - where Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) are profoundly changing our way of interacting with the world - there is a need to redefine and re-imagine interior spaces related to the future of living. Students have reflected on user experience, that is, the interaction between inhabitants and the space they will live in, on anthropological, scientific, environmental, and technological levels: they have been called to imagine how new technologies will enhance the new concept of living, where furniture itself will define spaces, exploring possible solutions characterized by organic and fluid forms. Analyzing physiological/human needs, they imagined all the possible activities and functions, sensory and emotional experiences that will enter into everyday life and living in the future, rethinking the technical, functional aspects of the new Poltrona Frau products and their contextualization in this type of new living scenario.
The proposals on display demonstrate a balanced vision between the physical and virtual world, with particular attention to the well-being of occupants, sustainability, accessibility, and inclusivity, for spaces that transcend themselves to integrate digital technologies and smart materials.
The exhibition, visitable at the headquarters in Via Cerva 24, curated by Riccardo Lucii, Designer and Alumnus of the School, is divided into two distinct but communicating parts, with an installation that aims to create an illusory perspective optical effect, where the user feels immersed and in which space they can "get lost".
