As the fourth most used social media platform, with more than a billion monthly active users worldwide and a million advertisers, Instagram has taken the lead as the top social media platform for influencer marketing campaigns. It is also considered the best platform for influencers because it is highly engaging and highly visual. It has been estimated that engagement on Instagram is ten times higher than on Facebook.

1. Huda Beauty 

With almost 53 million followers, award-winning blogger and Hollywood-trained celebrity make-up artist, Huda Kattan, the famous founder of Huda Beauty is the UAE’s number one influencer. Kattan is ranked #1 on the “2023 Influencer Instagram Rich List,” earning $18,000 for each post of sponsored content. She has been described as a  “Kim Kardashian of the beauty influencer economy”, and was declared one of the “ten most powerful influencers in the world of beauty” by Forbes magazine. She was also chosen as one of “The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet” by Time magazine in 2017. In 2021, Kattan was ranked number one on Cosmetify Beauty Influencer Rich List.

2. Joelle Mardinian

With almost 21 million followers, Joelle Mardinian is a Lebanese fashion model, actress and entrepreneur who founded Joelle, the beauty products company. Most of her content features her outfits, as well as beauty tips, which is how she built up her large fanbase. As one of the top influencers in the UAE, she uses various social media platforms to share pictures of nature, which also helps increase her following. Mardinian is also the host of a Lebanese TV show, and is one of the most popular Arab TV presenters in the MENA region.

3. Nour Arida

Nour Arida is a Lebanese-American model, social media influencer, fashion blogger, and founder of the children’s clothing line      

4. Generation Peace      

She began her career working in fashion stores in Lebanon, and worked as a buyer and brand manager for a number of prestigious fashion labels, including Rag & Bone, Zimmerman, and Frame Denim. Arida’s Instagram page focuses on creativity and the importance of inclusivity, she aims to use her unique talent to help encourage women and girls to maintain their “unique nature and spontaneity”.

5. Karen Wazen

Karen Wazen is a fashion entrepreneur and social media influencer based in Dubai. She began her online career through the blog, Karen’s Choice, in 2016, and has now gained over 7 million Instagram followers. Wazen has been featured on several magazine covers, including Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Elle Arabia, and Grazia Morocco. She has her own eyewear collection, which launched in 2018 and was ranked in Forbes’ Women Behind Middle Eastern Brands in 2019. Given her social media presence and influence in the Middle East and North Africa, Wazen has also represented the region at global events such as the Cannes Film Festival, and the British Fashion Awards.

6. Rawan Bin Hussein

Kuwait-born Rawan Bin Hussein is a model, beauty and fashion influencer who is known for her work as an editor for Velvet magazine. She currently divides her time between Dubai and London and gained worldwide acclamation after receiving the title “the Brooke Shields of Kuwait” from the media. The same year she also bagged the most influential social media figure of the year in Dubai. Rawan is a global ambassador for several brands, including Maybelline, Gucci, Lancôme, and Charlotte Tilbury in the Middle East. She currently has 7.5 million followers, both male and female and her success continues to grow.
