Fashion just got a major shake-up. Marni, the Italian house known for its fearless creativity and art-infused aesthetic, has just appointed a new creative director in 2025—and you’ll want to remember her name: Meryll Rogge.
Announced by Renzo Rosso’s OTB Group, Marni’s parent company, this game-changing move signals not just a new creative era for the brand, but also suggests a potential shift within the entire fashion system. With her sharp eye, uncompromising spirit, and a track record that speaks volumes, Meryll Rogge is set to lead Marni into its next chapter after Francesco Risso. And it’s going to be bold.
Meet Meryll Rogge, the Belgian Designer Leading Marni
Born in Ghent, Belgium, fashion designer Meryll Rogge has an extraordinary design pedigree. After studying in Antwerp, she cut her teeth on the global stage at Marc Jacobs in New York, spending seven formative years crafting narrative-rich, irreverent collections that blended cool with couture.
She then returned to Belgium to become the Head of Women’s Design at Dries Van Noten, where she didn’t just lead collections—she conceptualised the entire beauty line, pushing the brand’s creative boundaries through 2025. Meanwhile, she launched her own label, Meryll Rogge, in 2020, gaining recognition for its upcycled fashion and subversive tailoring. Her work quickly garnered acclaim in the industry for its cerebral mix of romanticism, rebellion, and structure.
The fashion world took notice: she was named Emerging Talent of the Year at the Belgian Fashion Awards in 2021, followed by Designer of the Year in 2024, becoming the first woman to receive that title. She also won the Grand Prix at the 2025 ANDAM Fashion Awards.
