Fashion Design & Innovation
Textura Project transforms natural materials, cultural references and visual atmospheres into modular fashion prints, using AI-assisted experimentation to connect research, seamless pattern development, colour exploration and product visualisation for fashion.
Textura Project explores how material surfaces, natural environments and cultural references can be transformed into modular fashion prints. Across ten designs, Chiara Maria Randazzo develops a broad visual vocabulary that moves from terracotta, water and ceramic fractures to circus imagery, botanical forms, Baroque ornament and aerodynamic movement.

Each print begins with a defined conceptual and visual territory. Terracotta interprets clay, earth tones and organic cracks; Fili d’Acqua connects marine movement with the student’s relationship to Sicily; Crepe celebrates the beauty of ceramic imperfections. Other designs investigate the theatrical energy of the circus, the linear delicacy of leaf veins, the richness of Baroque and Rococo ornament, coral formations, dreamlike flowers and dynamic flows. Colour palettes are developed in response to each theme, ranging from neutral mineral tones and monochrome water imagery to coral reds, deep burgundy and saturated geometric combinations.

AI supports the translation of these references into repeatable textile motifs. Prompts specify seamless rapport, modular continuity, visual effects, colour relationships and intended fashion use. The process includes both print development and product visualisation, allowing the student to test how a concept changes when translated from moodboard to pattern. In several cases, variants are produced to compare alternative palettes or compositional balances. AI therefore acts as a rapid prototyping environment through which visual directions can be generated, evaluated and adapted.

The designs are developed as 70 × 70 cm print modules and applied to dresses, blouses, skirts, jumpsuits, tops, bags and menswear. These applications allow proportion, repetition and colour impact to be assessed across different silhouettes. By combining cultural research, modular pattern construction and digital mock-ups, Textura Project presents AI as part of a practical fashion workflow that connects inspiration with product-oriented experimentation.
