TALENT CONTEST IN COLLABORATION WITH GIULIO CAPPELLINI FOR THE LONDON SCHOOL

Istituto Marangoni London is launching a brand-new scholarship contest in collaboration with Giulio Cappellini aimed at supporting and enhancing your unique talent in Interior Design and Product Design. Applicants have the incredible opportunity to choose a project brief for an undergraduate or postgraduate programme you are interested in and showcase their best talent. Works will be reviewed by a panel of Design Industry experts, enabling participants to secure future places at the London School.

THE CONTEST FOR INTERIOR DESIGN COURSES

Design a spatial concept for a temporary interior installation in London that communicates a narrative — cultural, social, historical, or personal in nature. Your concept may take the form of:

• A gallery or museum interior
• A cultural or social installation
• A concept retail or hospitality environment
• An immersive domestic or narrative-driven space

Participants are encouraged to explore user journey, materiality, sensory experience, sustainability, and spatial atmosphere in response to their chosen narrative.

THE CONTEST FOR PRODUCT DESIGN COURSES

Design a speculative artefact that responds to a plausible future scenario (social, environmental, technological, or cultural). Your concept should:

• Clearly articulate its future context and purpose
• Blend traditional and experimental materials and/or processes
• Consider future user behaviours, sustainability, and emotional durability
• Highlight how craft knowledge might coexist with, adapt to, or even resist emerging technologies

THE SCHOLARSHIP

A maximum of 2 scholarships (one per programme pathway) is available:

• 1 scholarship offering a 50% tuition fee reduction
• 1 scholarship offering up to a 30% tuition fee reduction
  (Enrolment fee is always due)

Valid for:

• January 2026 intake - BA & MA Interior Design
• September 2026 intake - BA & MA Product Design
  

Application Deadlines

• 26th November 2025 – for the BA & MA Interior Design programmes (January 2026 intake)
• 9th January 2026 – for the BA & MA Product Design programmes (September 2026 intake)
