FASHION COMMISSION PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: “BRIDGING CULTURAL HERITAGE AND INNOVATION IN FASHION” FOR ISTITUTO MARANGONI RIYADH

As the first global institute specializing in fashion to open its doors in the Kingdom, Istituto Marangoni Riyadh aims to prepare students for the job market, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Istituto Marangoni Ryadh, strategically located in Kafd, offers a wide range of specialized programs that blend KSA heritage, inclusive education, and technical skills, fostering creativity and empowering future leaders in the fashion industry. The institute operates under the accreditation of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), the government agency responsible for technical and vocational training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In collaboration with the Fashion Commission, 28 partial scholarships will be granted to Saudi students enrolling in the Advanced Diploma programs. This opportunity is open to Saudi nationals holding a high school certificate or an equivalent qualification.

THE PROJECT THEME

The aim of the project is to highlight the beauty and uniqueness of traditional crafts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and how fashion can play an important role in preserving precious skills and knowledge by finding new applications for them in contemporary society.

Applicants are encouraged to develop their projects through an imaginative, research-driven, and problem-solving approach.

FOR THE CREATIVE COURSES

Applicants are expected to explore how tradition and modernity intersect in contemporary fashion, emphasizing heritage craftsmanship, digital innovation, and sustainable future practices. The objective is to present a compelling case for a research-based fashion project that balances historical cultural narratives with cutting-edge technology.

Advanced Training Diploma in Fashion Design & Accessories: Develop a series of design ideas that demonstrate new ways of using or adapting a traditional Saudi craft skill in contemporary fashion garments. This may be presented as a capsule collection of 6 looks, or as a fashion product line of 12 garments/artefacts.

Advanced Training Diploma in Fashion Communication & Image: Propose ways in which a traditional Saudi craft could be innovated through the integration of digital technology, either from a visual design/communication perspective or through creative storytelling.

FOR THE MANAGEMENT COURSE

Applicants are expected to explore how tradition and modernity intersect in a chosen brand or within contemporary fashion, emphasizing inclusion, sustainability, or digitalization.

Advanced Training Diploma in Fashion Management, Digital Communication & Media: Analyze the current communication strategy of a luxury brand (international or local) and propose an advertising campaign targeting young Saudi customers.

THE SCHOLARSHIP

The Fashion Commission initiative offers 28 Saudi nationals the opportunity to receive a scholarship that will partially cover the tuition fees of the 3-year Advanced Training Diploma programmes at Istituto Marangoni Riyadh, as follows:
