NEW RITUALS OF LIVING · TALENT CONTEST IN COLLABORATION WITH GIULIO CAPPELLINI

Istituto Marangoni Milano Design, in collaboration with Giulio Cappellini, launches “New Rituals of Living”, an international scholarship contest dedicated to young creatives invited to imagine new scenarios for contemporary interior design.

THE CONTEST

The contest encourages participants to develop a visionary concept capable of interpreting the cultural, social and emotional transformations redefining the meaning of living today. From residential environments to hospitality, wellness spaces and hybrid physical-digital experiences, candidates are invited to explore new domestic and collective rituals through spaces that foster connection, wellbeing, introspection and new forms of human interaction.

The goal is to shape a new language for interior design, where aesthetics, material research, technology and human sensitivity coexist in balance, transforming space into an immersive, emotional and meaningful experience. 

1. Participants are required to develop a design concept through moodboards, sketches, renderings, AI-generated imagery or visual storytelling capable of representing a new vision of contemporary living.
2. Projects may explore residential, hospitality, wellness, retail or hybrid environments, integrating innovative materials, emerging technologies, sustainable approaches and new forms of interaction between people and spaces.
3. Each proposal must be accompanied by a short narrative (maximum 500 words) outlining the concept, research and design vision behind the project.
4. Submissions must be original and unpublished work created specifically for this contest. All entries must be submitted digitally in a high-resolution format.

THE SCHOLARSHIP

The winner will be awarded a scholarship up to 50% deduction on the tuition fee (enrollment fee is due) for the Master in Interior Design or Interior Contract Design starting in September 2026 in the Milano Design School.
