ISTITUTO MARANGONI LONDON GIULIO CAPPELLINI SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

The London School is launching a brand-new scholarship contest in collaboration with Giulio Cappellini, aimed at supporting and enhancing your unique talent in Interior Design and Product Design. Applicants will have the opportunity to choose a project brief for an undergraduate or postgraduate programme and showcase their creative potential. Projects will be reviewed by a panel of Design Industry experts, offering participants the chance to secure a place at Istituto Marangoni London.

THE PROJECT

Project Brief for BA/MA Product Design

This year’s theme challenges applicants to explore how product design can respond to future needs through a synthesis of traditional craftsmanship and emerging technologies. Participants are invited to investigate the creative tension between heritage and innovation, reimagining an everyday artefact.

Applicants should reflect on:

• Redefining relationships between people and personal, domestic, or collective objects
• Combining traditional materials and craftsmanship with experimental and technological processes
• Designing products that support future lifestyles, sustainability, and the <strong+>evolution of craft traditions

Project Brief for BA/MA Interior Design

Design a spatial concept for a temporary interior installation in London that communicates a narrative, whether cultural, social, historical, or personal.

This could take the form of:

• A gallery or museum interior
• A cultural or social installation
• A concept retail or hospitality environment
• An immersive, narrative-driven space

Applicants are encouraged to consider user journey, materiality, sensory experience, sustainability, and spatial atmosphere in response to their concept.

THE SCHOLARSHIP

The best projects, as evaluated by the jury, will be awarded a scholarship. A maximum of four scholarships are available:

• Two BA scholarships (Interior Design and Product Design), each providing a 35% tuition fee reduction
• Two Master’s scholarships (Interior Design and Product Design), each providing up to a 35% tuition fee reduction

All scholarships apply to full-time programmes at Istituto Marangoni London for the September 2026 intake. The enrolment fee is always due. For BA (Hons) programmes, the tuition reduction applies only to the first academic year.

Projects must be submitted by 30 June 2026
