Giandonato
Domenico Giandonato is an I'M Alumnus of the Fashion Design course at Istituto Marangoni Milano Fashion School and a menswear designer with extensive international experience across luxury and contemporary fashion. His work combines creative direction and product development with a focus on building menswear collections aligned with brand identity.
He is currently working as VP of Men’s Design at A|X Armani Exchange in a consulting capacity, working between Milan and New York. Since the begining of his collaboration with the brand in 2014, he has overseen the creative development of the men’s collections, contributing to the evolution of the product vision and ensuring consistency across design and market positioning.
Domenico began his professional journey in Milan as Menswear Designer at Trussardi (1990–1993). He then joined Gianfranco Ferré as Menswear Design Director (1993–1997), contributing to the development of high‑end menswear collections during a pivotal period for the brand. In 1997, Domenico moved to New York, becoming Senior Designer for Menswear at Donna Karan (1997–2001), followed by a promotion to Menswear Head Designer at John Varvatos (2001–2003). He later returned to Donna Karan as Menswear Designer Director (2003), and subsequently rejoined John Varvatos as Menswear Designer Director (2004–2005).
In 2005, he collaborated with Burberry as Menswear Outerwear Designer Consultant, contributing to outerwear design across London and New York. That same year, he also worked with Missoni as Menswear Creative Consultant (2005–2007). From 2007 to 2012, Domenico became Menswear Creative Director at Trinity Limited in Hong Kong,
Across more than three decades, his career reflects a consistent focus on men’s fashion, combining creative design and cross‑cultural experience in leading international brands. Moreover, his work has been recognized with prestigious prizes such as the 2004 win of the CFD Menswear Designer of the Year for his work at John Varvados and the Catlogue 3 Suisses Award.
