Born in Madrid in 1986, after graduating in Fashion Design from Istituto Marangoni, Macarena Miranda started her career in shoe design at Brian Atwood, the Milan based women's footwear brand, where she worked for five years acquiring a 360-degree view of the shoe business. There, she was actively involved in every aspect of the product development, from research to design; in supporting production and sales, liaising with manufacturers, vendors, and clients; and in several special events and celebrity-related projects, working with names such as Lady Gaga and actress Anne Hathaway. In September 2014, Macarena moved to London to work at Alexander McQueen as Senior Women's Shoe Designer. In this capacity, she was responsible for the development of the commercial collections, researching for new trends, colours, materials, and embellishments, as well as following up on new constructions. Nowadays, she works as Senior Luxury Footwear Designer & Creative Consultant providing strategic creative consultancy to luxury and emerging brands.
