Prestes

Mariana Prestes is a Brazilian product designer, artist and an I'M Alumna of the Master in Product & Furniture Design at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design. She co-founded the design firm Studio Prestes, of which she leads the creative direction.
After studying Visual Arts and Advertising, Mariana completed her academic studies with a Master's degree in Product & Furniture Design at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design in 2021, graduating cum laude.
In 2015, Mariana launched her own brand of design object and artworks with the "Yellow Cardinal" collection. Since then, she has created a series of artworks that raise awareness of endangered species and promote well-being through art. Her signature watercolor patterns are translated into wallpapers, textiles, porcelain, and glass, serving both interior design and fashion.
Most recently, in 2025, during Milan Design Week, she was selected among the three designers for the project “Design Hold Memories,” promoted by Istituto Marangoni Milano Design and Smeg. The project involved the transformation of three FAB refrigerators into unique works of art, presented in an immersive installation. For the occasion, Mariana created "The Art of Nature", a piece inspired by her deep bond with the natural world. Her design imagined the iconic fridge "embraced by nature," hand-painted in watercolor. The imagery, centered on birds, symbolized a fridge that protects treasures shared by all living beings: fresh food and fruits, capable of creating beautiful new memories.
Mariana is also a member of the Prisma Project, the group of talented graduates from Istituto Marangoni Milano Design aimed at promoting collaboration between its members and prestigious Italian design brands. She currently also serves as Director of International Projects at the ADP (Associação de Designers de Produto Brasil), helping to promote Brazilian design globally.
Mariana stands out for her distinctive creative vision rooted in fine art, surface design, and a deep connection with nature.
