Founded in 2006, his brand quickly gained recognition for its clear aesthetic vision, minimalist approach, and contemporary identity—enhancing Italian artisanal tradition through a sophisticated and timeless perspective.
Headquartered in Milan with a production hub in San Mauro Pascoli—a renowned district of footwear excellence—the maison is rooted in craftsmanship passed down through generations. Each boutique, from the first one opened in 2008 to the stores in London, New York, Tokyo, and Paris, reflects the founder’s distinctive taste, where powdery tones, gold accents, and earthy hues harmoniously interact with materials and geometries in perfect balance.
The essence of the brand is captured in collections that combine formal purity, precise proportions, and a carefully curated color palette. Since the beginning, Gianvito Rossi has introduced iconic styles such as the Gianvito pump, Vamp Open Toe, Portofino sandal, and the entire Plexi collection—a milestone in the innovative use of transparent materials in the world of luxury. This collection also includes the Elle mule and the Metropolis sandal, alongside other signature silhouettes like Bijoux, Jaipur, and the elegant Bella clutch. Each pair of shoes goes through over sixty steps—from hand-selecting leathers to meticulous assembly—ensuring footwear that blends aesthetic perfection with softness and lightness, designed to endure over time and enhance the female silhouette.
The symbolic value of his creations is further affirmed by the many international celebrities who choose to wear them on the world’s most prominent stages, contributing to the visual landscape of our time.
Gianvito Rossi’s mentorship will offer students a unique opportunity to observe firsthand the making of a consistent brand identity, the development of a distinctive aesthetic language, and the real-world application of design as a form of identity and international vision.
