Luca Lin, founder and creative director of the brand Act N°1, has been appointed as the new mentor for fashion programmes at Istituto Marangoni Firenze.
The brand was established in Reggio Emilia in 2016 and quickly garnered attention, winning the "Who Is On Next?" competition in 2017, promoted by AltaRoma and Vogue Italia. The following year, ACT N°1 was featured by Vogue America among the eight brands that are redefining contemporary fashion.
In 2022, ACT N°1 was selected again for the "Support Young Designers" project, gaining visibility through the Spring-Summer 2023 fashion show broadcast live on Valentino's Instagram channel.
The brand has captured the attention of renowned designers and celebrities, including Beyoncé, who wore one of their dresses for the Tiffany & Co. Summer Renaissance campaign, and artists such as Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Sharon Stone, Lady Gaga, Zara Larsson, Ellie Goulding, and Rita Ora.
According to the young Creative Director, a modern designer must not only create a collection but also convey a meaningful message, telling a story.
Luca Lin will begin his journey with students in the second semester, and this partnership not only strengthens Istituto Marangoni Firenze's commitment to providing high-level education but also prepares students to face challenges and opportunities in an ever-evolving fashion industry.
