A leading voice in the new generation of design talent, Paul Andrew cultivated his aesthetic and technical expertise alongside Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Narciso Rodriguez and the late Alexander McQueen. Andrew launched his eponymous collection of women’s footwear in 2013, soon thereafter extended the line to include men’s footwear, and in 2014 became the first shoe designer and the youngest brand to win the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

In 2016, Salvatore Ferragamo appointed Andrew Design Director for women’s shoes, and one year later promoted him to Women’s Creative Director. Following the global success of his first collections, Andrew was named Creative Director of all Ferragamo product categories in 2019 – the first individual to assume this title since Salvatore Ferragamo himself helmed the brand.

Andrew’s work is at once daring and pragmatic, balancing luxury with sustainability and environmental consciousness, craftsmanship with the latest material and technological innovations. Raised in rural England, his father worked as chief upholsterer for the Queen at Windsor Castle, and his mother as an executive for Commodore Computers, a then-groundbreaking invention. His upbringing thus instilled in him an appreciation for the dualities that would later define his aesthetic and creative approach. Andrew went on to study fashion design and showed his first collection of handmade shoes and ready-to-wear at London’s Graduate Fashion Week in 1999 to great acclaim, securing his apprenticeship with Alexander McQueen.

Paul Andrew’s passionate work ethic, dedication to brand building and entrepreneurialism have earned him critical praise and commercial respect internationally. In his view, design must inspire and seduce but just as importantly function and endure. He measures the success of a product, idea or image equally by its ability to influence culture and behavior as by its ability to deliver concretebusiness results. Fashion as an evidence and also a provocation of culture is what intrigues Andrew, inspiring him to seek out a future that is waiting to be imagined and created.
