The exhibition with Jaipur Rugs during Design Week 2026
Communication students from Istituto Marangoni Milano Design, in collaboration with Jaipur Rugs.
Developed in collaboration with Jaipur Rugs, the project explores the relationship between communication design, cultural heritage and social interaction within the context of Milano Design Week 2026. The initiative reactivates a historic bocce court in Porta Venezia, transforming it into a public space where tradition and contemporary design intersect.

As part of the activation, on April 24 a second public moment will take place: a bocce tournament between Design students and veteran players. This event expands the project into a participatory experience, where play becomes a shared language and a tool for connection, bridging generations through direct interaction.
Connecting generations through design, tradition and shared social experiences
A historic bocce court reimagined as a public design platform
Handcrafted rugs link Indian tradition with contemporary Milanese culture
The playing field is reimagined through the use of handcrafted rugs, creating a connection between Italian social rituals and Indian artisanal heritage. Conceived by students of the Master in Communication Design, the project forms part of a broader strategy aimed at developing an integrated and immersive communication ecosystem.

By combining physical activation and digital storytelling, the initiative reflects Jaipur Rugs’ vision of connecting craftsmanship, sustainability and contemporary culture, while engaging new audiences through participatory experiences.
