Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design
Developed within the Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design, “OTTO” by Artis Kristians Abikis, a Latvian designer and student at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design, was selected among the finalists of the SIT Furniture Design Award 2026.
Originally developed for Milano Design Week 2025 as part of a design contest created in collaboration with Lenovo x Rivatelier, the project explores new ways of integrating technology, functionality and contemporary living into the domestic environment.
OTTO reinterprets the traditional table as a flexible and multifunctional object designed to adapt to different daily activities, from working to moments of relaxation. Combining material research, ergonomic thinking and a refined aesthetic approach, the project reflects a human-centred vision of furniture design, transforming everyday interactions into a more fluid and adaptable experience.
