Miami recently hosted the 7th Latin American Fashion Summit (LAFS), the premier event for Latin American fashion, emerging designers, and lifestyle brands. Over three days at the Moore Building, the summit brought together buyers, creative directors, retailers, editors, and brand founders to explore the latest fashion trends, luxury innovation, and global market opportunities. 

Far more than a simple showcase of creativity, LAFS highlighted Latin America’s growing influence in the global fashion scene, positioning the region as a key driver of international style, sustainable luxury, and cultural innovation. LAFS 2025 confirmed its role as the leading platform connecting Latin American talent with global fashion audiences, business growth, and cross-border collaborations.

LAFS has emerged as the leading platform for Latin American fashion, wellness, and lifestyle brands. Over time, it has evolved into a cultural and economic accelerator—connecting regional talent with the global fashion industry, giving brands international visibility and a strategic bridge to expand their businesses worldwide.

This year, the programme went beyond traditional fashion talks, exploring technology, wellness, sustainability, craftsmanship, astrology, and cross-border retail—all key areas defining the next wave of fashion trends.

How LAFS is Boosting Global Recognition for Latin American Designers

Throughout the summit, panels, workshops, breakout sessions, and networking events addressed the most pressing shifts in the industry—from AI-driven creativity and new retail strategies to influencer monetisation, wellness as a brand value, and the expectations of digitally native consumers. 

Executives from Moda Operandi, Revolve, Nordstrom, Shopbop, The Webster, Kering, and WGSN, alongside emerging Latin American designers, discussed the current state of fashion and the essential tools for success in a competitive global market. 

Highlights included: 

  • “Monetise Your Influence” with Tiffany Lopinsky (ShopMy) 
  • “Rethinking Leadership” with Eva Hughes 
  • “Building the Dream Brand” with April Henning (President, Moda Operandi) and Jonathan Simkhai 
  • “Being Discovered,” with Craig Robins (CEO, Dacra), moderated by Karla Martínez de Salas (Editor-in-Chief, Vogue Mexico & Latin America)
  • “The Creator Mindset” with Gary and Valeria Lipovetsky

Adding a creative dimension, LAFS partnered with Disney for a full day devoted to storytelling, demonstrating how narrative continues to shape global culture, brand identity, and consumer engagement.

 

Spotlighting Latin America’s Rising Fashion Talent

The “Pitch to LAFS” competition has become a major platform for emerging Latin American designers, providing mentorship, global visibility, and direct access to retail and wholesale opportunities. 

This year’s Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year, and Social Impact of the Year went to Weise (Bolivia), La Torres (Argentina), and Supernaturae (Mexico), respectively.

Winners received $10,000 in investment, mentorship, a Coterie booth, a Moda Operandi trunk show, and a six-month premium partnership with ShopMy—providing critical resources to accelerate brand growth and expand international exposure.

Visitors engaged directly with designers, fostering meaningful networking opportunities. Brands such as Port de Bras, Zingara, Zhadere, Hijas de Puka, Pitusa, and Zut demonstrated how Latin American fashion is evolving through innovative techniques and exceptional craftsmanship.
