Melina Shibli won the Social Contest Award
Istituto Marangoni Firenze is proud to announce that Melina Shibli, Fashion Design student, has been awarded the Social Contest Award at the 2025 edition of Feel the Yarn®, a prestigious international competition dedicated to knitwear. The award, assigned to the most voted finalist on social media, includes a €1,000 prize to further develop her skills in the field. Melina partnered with Alpes Manifattura Filati, creating an original project based on the theme “WISHLIST,” and captured the public’s attention with the strength of her creative vision.
Feel the Yarn®, promoted by the Consorzio Promozione Filati (CPF), is a leading international platform in the world of knitwear, aiming to support emerging talent from the most renowned fashion schools. The finalists' projects were evaluated by a prestigious international jury — including David Shah, Laurie Pressman, Elke Dieterich, and Ornella Bignami — and presented during Pitti Immagine Filati (Florence, July 1–3). The award ceremony took place on July 2, celebrating the most outstanding designs developed in collaboration with top Italian yarn manufacturers.
Melina Shibli is one of three students from Istituto Marangoni Firenze who reached the final round, alongside Giulia Lin (in collaboration with Botto Giuseppe & Figli) and Elena Maria Brugnara (with Manifattura Igea). This achievement marks a historic milestone for the School — it is the first time that three students from the same institution have simultaneously reached the final. It confirms the strength of Istituto Marangoni Firenze’s educational approach, which successfully combines creativity, international vision, and close ties with the industry.
