It is sunset. Across Paris, the last rays of sunlight embrace the fragrant garden of Istituto Marangoni Paris. The air is filled with a symphony of scents: jasmine hatching at golden hour and the aromatic notes of sage and mint. Against this backdrop of light and fragrance, the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of Istituto Marangoni Paris begin.

To mark this important milestone, a prestigious gathering of guests has come together: presidents and executives from leading fashion and beauty maisons, creatives, perfumers – all captivated by the beautiful fragrance garden created by Davide Riva, young talents, influencers and students who have turned the skills and knowledge acquired at the Institute into their own creative journeys, becoming protagonists in their own right. Among them is Hazal Sen, who presented Beauty Omelette during the evening, the cosmetics brand she founded in Turkey, acclaimed for the quality of its products, from skincare to make-up, as well as for its minimalist, chic aesthetic. Guests had the opportunity to experience the brand first-hand, with two make-up artists creating personalised looks.

It is an important moment in the journey of an academy that teaches business, styling and communication, as well as new technologies and the most advanced AI tools applied to the luxury and creative industries. Twenty years of growth, and a constant drive to move forward.

This is evident in the exhibition staged by Istituto Marangoni Paris in its basement to mark this special occasion: a showcase inspired by the great fashion exhibitions of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Grand Palais. Warren Leech, Programme Leader Creative Masters and Claudia Fratini, professor of global fashion, tell 20 years of history, boldness and passion through garments, accessories, drawings, photographs, snapshots of the most emblematic shows and newspaper articles. Each piece embodies a vision in motion, where precision of gesture and attention to detail meet the mastery of artisanal techniques. A woven bustier, draped silhouettes, fringed skirts, poetic chiaroscuro transparencies and lush, verdant forms, culminating in the sculptural dresses created by Top 10 students from previous years, that seem to have been cast in wax. An invitation to travel through time while, at the same time, imagining the future.

And when the fashion journey comes to an end, with the emotions of the exhibition still lingering, the fragrant trail of the perfume created by Symrise perfumer Pierre Guéros gently awakens the senses. It is the other star of the evening: L’Orangerie, a delicate composition that evokes, through its ingredients, the core values of Istituto Marangoni Paris. The three magical Es: energy, excellence and edge. Citrus fruits and orange blossom meet a velvety accord of amber, vetiver and suede, evoking the softness of leather. The notes of the composition unfold on the skin like a veil of light.

The evening moves into full swing. The dance floor comes alive in a blaze of fluorescent colour, while DJ Claude-Emmanuelle – queen of Paris’s most coveted nights – takes over the decks. In the garden, conversations continue late into the evening. Connections are made, ideas take shape, and the celebration carries on.

Celebrating twenty years at the Paris campus is about coming together, looking ahead and imagining what’s yet to come – with a shared spirit and an ambition that make Marangoni the school that gives confidence to one’s dreams.
