Advay Gupta of the School of Design wins the Porada Design Award

The School of Design at Istituto Marangoni Milano is pleased to announce that Advay Gupta, a third-year product design student has won the "Porada International Design Award 2023", a contest launched by the Italian company Porada, which is nationally recognised in the furniture accessories sector. The 2023 edition featured mirrors, and the challenge for the designers was to create innovative concepts that capture and reinterpret the essence of the Porada brand, using solid wood.
"Capriolo Mirror" is a mirror with elegant and sinuous shapes, inspired by the animal from which it derives its name. Made with wood supplied by Porada, a leader in wood and furniture design, the Capriolo Mirror stands out for its originality and functionality, features that won over the members of the jury.
Advay became familiar with the Porada company and the wood they produce during a visit to their factory in Cabiate, near Como, which was arranged by the Istituto Marangoni Milano • The School of Design.
This experience furthered his creative and research process by allowing him to study the properties and potential of wood up close and then materialise his idea into a project with a modern and sophisticated design.
Congratulations, Advay!
Istituto Marangoni Milano • The School of Design is proud of you!
